Peoria High School wins $1K

Peoria High School’s Panther Band has been recognized as one of the best music programs in the Valley after being named the January winner of Fulton Homes’ School Salute program.

Under the direction of Jeffrey Malone, the band program will receive a $1,000 check from the local home builder and longtime community steward.

The Peoria Panther Band seeks to develop students into exemplary leaders, role models and musicians. Within the program, students have the opportunity to participate in the Panther Pride Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Panther Jazz Band. They frequently participate in competitions and festivals across Arizona, and often receive superior ratings and awards.

School Salute recognizes local middle school and high school music programs that submit their rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner.” For the ninth consecutive year, Fulton Homes has partnered with 94.5 KOOL FM for its School Salute program. Each week a winner is chosen to have their performance played on KOOL FM at noon each day. At the end of each month, one of the weekly winners will be awarded a $1,000 check from Fulton Homes.

“Fulton Homes is proud to support local schools and their musical departments in hopes of developing instrumental and choral developments”, Fulton Homes CEO Doug Fulton stated in a news release.

To enter, schools can call 94.5 KOOL FM at 602-452-1000 and schedule a time to come in and record the music program. To listen to the bands perform the National Anthem, tune in to 94.5 KOOL FM every day at noon.
