Phoenix Center for the Arts offers summer classes

Posted

Phoenix Center for the Arts, 1202 N. Third Street in downtown Phoenix, is offering some “cool” new classes plus longtime favorites this summer.

Adults and youths can choose to take an art class from home, or in-person at the center, according to a press release, noting registration opens at 9 a.m. on April 19. Students can sign up for classes by calling 602-254-3100, or online at phoenixcenterforthearts.org.

The center has expanded the class schedule to include one- and two-day workshops on Saturdays, the release said, encouraging anyone interested in trying a new art form, to get a better feel for the medium, before signing up for a multi-week course.

Workshops available this summer range from watercolor painting to metal and jewelry making, and photography, including a one day photography workshop with a pinhole camera.

Phoenix Center for the Arts is a Central Arts Alliance facility—adjacent to Hance Park Central Arts Alliance—a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, providing arts and culture opportunities for all through education, programming, and advocacy.

Phoenix Center for the Arts is a facility of and supported by the city of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department, noted the release.

Phoenix Center for the Arts is partly supported by an award from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the state of Arizona with partial funding provided by the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture through appropriations from the Phoenix City Council.
