The Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual Bootiful Night Halloween spooktacular has changed a little to accommodate COVID-19 safety measures, but it will still provide a safe alternative for trick-or-treaters.
The free drive-thru event will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Estrella Mountain Community College, 3000 N. Dysart Road in Avondale, with chamber members handing out candy and prizes to trick-or-treaters up to age 14.
Kids of all ages are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes, and bring a non-perishable food item to donate to those in need locally.
All attendees will be required to wear masks, even in their vehicles, chamber officials said.
Chamber members interested in being a candy participant can sign up via the chamber’s website.
Candy participants should bring enough candy and assorted Halloween goodies for 500 and 600 hungry ghouls and goblins.
They can decorate their trunks to suit the occasion or place a small table behind their vehicles, and chamber officials suggest using ladles or tons to distribute candy.
The chamber also is looking for volunteers to help with traffic and other jobs.
For more information, call the chamber at 623-932-2260. Chamber members wishing to sign up as a candy participant or volunteer, can fill out forms on chamber’s website, southwestvalleychamber.org.
