Photocentric moving U.S. headquarters from Phoenix to Avondale

New facility in Avondale 107th Industrial Park will double size of manufacturing plant

Photocentric Inc., a pioneer in the development of photopolymers and additive manufacturing, announced April 26 it will move its U.S.-based headquarters from Phoenix to Avondale.

Founded in 2002 in the United Kingdom, Photocentric has been at the cutting edge of innovation in photopolymer, manufacturing a wide variety of materials that harden in light, according to a release from the city of Avondale, according to a release. From 3D printing to craft and office stamps, the company’s technologies and innovative tooling have supported a broad range of applications.

Photocentric’s move this fall to its newly leased 50,000-square-foot facility in the Avondale 107 Industrial Park, 855 N. 107th Ave., will allow the rapidly growing company to double its space and create dozens of new local jobs.

“Arizona is proud to be the location of Photocentric’s new headquarters, as well as the home of their latest high-tech expansion,” Gov. Doug Ducey said in a prepared statement. “Photocentric’s selection of Avondale demonstrates our state’s premier attractiveness for innovation and manufacturing, and we look forward to partnering in their success for years to come.”

“At our core, Photocentric is a technology and innovation company. We’re thrilled to move our U.S.-based operations to Avondale and add to the high-tech industry cluster growth in the area,” Photocentric Chief Operating Officer Leea Haarz said in a prepared statement. “The high caliber of available talent and great partnership with the city of Avondale’s Economic Development team have made this decision easy, and will ensure future success.”

“Avondale is fast becoming one of the Valley’s most desirable locations for high-tech companies that want to take advantage of our competitively priced real estate options and proximity to major transportation corridors and skilled labor force,” Avondale Economic Development Director Kenneth Chapa said in a prepared statement. “Photocentric is a leader in 3-D manufacturing, and we are excited to welcome them to our community.”

The new Avondale location will allow Photocentric to grow its innovation and additive manufacturing processes. The company plans to vertically integrate the entire photopolymer process in the United States from manufacturing to distribution, the release stated.

“Avondale continues to attract manufacturing that is leading the way in innovation,” Avondale Mayor Kenn Weise said in a prepared statement. “We have a skilled labor force ready to get to work, and we are excited for the quality jobs that Photocentric will provide for the community.”

“Photocentric’s industry-leading technology is a welcome addition to Arizona’s innovation ecosystem and will create new high-value jobs for our residents,” Sandra Watson, president and chief executive officer of the Arizona Commerce Authority, said in a prepared statement. “We thank the entire team at Photocentric for selecting Arizona as the home of your corporate headquarters and manufacturing operation.”
