UPDATED OCT. 16: The city added two additional days after free tickets to its annual Fall Festival, 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23-24 sold out.
Of of Oct. 16, tickets were available for 6-10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. No tickets will be required for final day of the event, 6-10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.
The event will feature a Halloween-themed illuminated drive-thru route in the Goodyear Ballpark’s parking lots at 1933 S. Ballpark Way.
Families can trick-or-treat from their vehicles, and pick up pumpkins and other goodies.
The event’s costume contest will be held virtually before the festival so winners can collect prizes without leaving their vehicles.
Prizes will be awarded for best group/family costume, best kid costume (12 and younger), best adult costume (13 and older) and best overall costume.

Veterans Day Tribute
Veterans Day is Wednesday, Nov. 11, but Goodyear is celebrating those who served in three ways.
The city has 1,000 custom “thank you” signs available for pick up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at City Hall, 190 N. Litchfield Road, and the Goodyear Recreation Office, 3075 N. Litchfield Road.
Residents also may send a 10-second video thanking veterans for their service and sharing why Veterans Day is important to you for possible inclusion in a Veterans Day tribute to be shared on social media.
Videos should be emailed to veterans@goodyearaz.gov by Thursday, Nov. 1.
Goodyear Rocks
The city has partnered with Alice Cooper Solid Rock to provide a free virtual rock concert from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.
The event provides a platform for local emerging musicians to perform on stage with veteran performers, giving them stage experience and the opportunity to share their talents with the community.
Summer, SunKissed, Conrad Varela and Retro-Active are scheduled to perform during the event live-streamed at Goodyearaz.gov/events.
Goodyear Glows
The city’s annual tree-lighting celebration, Goodyear Glows, will still feature holiday lights, music and Santa, but this year the festivities from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at Goodyear Ballpark will be live-streamed, with no in-person attendance.
The two-hour event will include live rock Christmas covers, with Santa reading letters from local children between sets, the tree-lighting and a fireworks finale.
To participate in the “Santa Shoutout,” children can send their letters to santa@goodyearaz.gov.
Because the city knows kids of all ages love seeing Santa, the jolly old elf will hitch a ride with Goodyear Fire Department and cruise neighborhoods for three hours nightly.
Routes and dates will be announced on the city’s website, goodyearaz.gov.
