The 10th annual Kiss Me I’m Irish run/walk weekend is Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 at Westgate Entertainment District, 6751 N. Sunset Blvd., Glendale.

In 10 years, the event has raised more than $50,000 for cancer charities.

The weekend starts with the 1K Kilt Run, which gets under way 6 p.m. Friday. The event is hoping for 1,765 runners wearing kilts to break the world record for the number of runners and walkers in kilts. (It’s currently held by Perth, Ontario, Canada.) Entry Includes a kilt, finisher’s medal and, for those of age, a Guinness.

The Half Marathon starts 7 a.m. Saturday. All participants receive a Kiss Me I’m Irish 10th anniversary jacket and finishers medal.

The 8K starts 7:10 a.m. Saturday. Leashed pets welcome. Participants receive a Kiss Me I’m Irish 10th anniversary jacket and finishers medal.

The 4K starts 7:20 a.m. Saturday. The 4K run/walk/stroll is just under 2.5 miles. Strollers and leashed pets welcome. Participants receive a Kiss Me I’m Irish 10th anniversary jacket and finishers medal.
