Janet Trisler

Posted

To quote Shakespeare, Janet Trisler “shuffled off this mortal coil” on November 14, 2020. The family left grieving for their loss consists of a husband, four daughters, four granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.
Her life was rich with the arts. She and her husband were partners in an art studio for over fifty years. Janet’s ceramics gained national attention in the 1960’s and 70’s. Her work can be found in collections from New York to California. Music was also a big part of her life. In the early years of their marriage, Janet and her husband performed duets for small groups around Ohio and Texas. She played violin, banjo, piano, bass, and drums. She was also active in the theater. During college she performed in dramatic productions and after their marriage, she and her husband performed in Community Theater in Ohio and Colorado. Her last exhibition of ceramics, drawings and paintings was a retrospective exhibition with her husband at West Valley Art Museum, in Peoria, Arizona.
Janet’s philosophy of life, she said, could be summed up in the words of advice her father gave her: “Don’t ride the clutch”.
