EVIT breakfast fundraiser slated for April 1

The East Valley Institute of Technology Foundation will hold its annual Fundraising Breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, raising funds to support students.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey will be the featured speaker, addressing workforce development in Arizona and the importance of the career and technical education that EVIT provides.
The funds raised at the breakfast support EVIT students who are in need of financial support for course and program fees, as well as help with licensing and certification costs, according to a press release.
This fall, the EVIT Foundation awarded more than $86,000 to over 400 EVIT students. All EVIT programs provide professional career licensing and certifications upon completion, making students workforce ready.
The breakfast program will include a presentation on a new pathway program for students to progress from EVIT, to Scottsdale Community College, to Northern Arizona University Pathway Program for Culinary students.
In total, 40 EVIT programs prepare students for the workplace.
Other breakfast highlights include presenting “Friends of the Foundation Awards” to organizations or individuals who have given significant financial support to the Foundation in support of EVIT students that need the help the most.
This year’s Fundraising Breakfast includes a live and silent auction with items being available for bidding online in advance of the breakfast. Tahoe vacations, golf at exclusive courses and a Bondurant driving course, are just a few of the items available for bidding.
